Rock Passenger Transport is proud to announce a major investment in the future of the business with the addition of four brand-new electric vehicles to our growing fleet.
Supported through the ESPSV Scrappage Grant Scheme from the National Transport Authority, the investment follows the replacement of four older end-of-life vehicles and represents another important milestone in the continued growth of the company.
The move towards electric vehicles has been driven by rising fuel costs and a long-term commitment to future-proofing the business while continuing to reduce environmental impact and deliver the highest standards of service to our customers.
Over recent years, Rock Passenger Transport has continued to expand its range of services across airport transfers, wheelchair-accessible transport, school services, private hire, minibus transport and corporate travel throughout the region.
Owner Rickey Nesbitt said:
“I’ve loved this industry since I was a child. I even put taxi stickers on my go-kart when I was about five years old, thinking I could carry passengers for hire. To now be growing my own fleet and investing in the future of the business is something I’m very proud of.”
“This investment is about building a business that can continue delivering a high standard of service across the region for decades to come. We are committed to providing reliable, professional and customer-focused transport services while continuing to modernise and improve our fleet.”
Supporting local business Meehans Ltd was also an important part of the investment, with the new vehicles supplied locally in Dundalk. There is also a personal connection, as the same salesman John Cosgrove who supplied a Toyota HiAce minibus to Rickey’s father for his taxi business over 25 years ago helped complete the latest investment.
From childhood fascination with the industry to building a modern and expanding fleet, Rock Passenger Transport continues to look to the future with confidence.
We would like to thank all of our wonderful staff and loyal customers for their continued support, without you's this wouldnt be possible, we look forward to serving the community for many years to come.
